Meet Justice Longoria
A balanced approach to Texas justice…
The Corpus Christi Caller-Times called Justice Nora Longoria a “sharp lawyer” and a “strong addition” to the Court. Known for her work ethic, writing and joint authoring over 1,200 opinions since taking bench in 2013, Nora credits her upbringing as the daughter of a public school teacher and a South Texas rancher.
That South Texas work ethic hasn’t gone unnoticed. Among her many legal accolades, she was nominated to the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates and is a current member of the Center for Women in Law at the University of Texas Law School. In the community, she is a graduate of Leadership McAllen and an active member of the South Texas Cattleman’s Association. As both a proud Texas Aggie and Texas Longhorn, Nora remains active in the Association of Former Students of Texas A&M and the Texas Exes.
While titles and awards are humbling, nothing replaces real experience. Over the course of her career, Nora has represented every type of person or business in some capacity — insurance companies, battered women, banks, children and those accused of crime.
Justice Longoria now serves a diverse Texas community spanning 20 counties.
